Firetape is made of silicone rubber coated bulk glass fiber tape. It is a kind of flame insulation tape, which designed to protect hoses, wires and cables from the hazards of high heat and occasional flame. It protect continuously to 260°C and will withstand molten steel, molten aluminum and molten glass at 1650°C. When exposed to flame, the silicon rubber transforms to a crust, creating a protective SiO2 refractory layer.
